Two thoughts that come up as I read this. When you find a need or create an experience and fill it so well people won't see it as a cost. Also, I think women are often overlooked when it comes to marketing. I'm not sure of exact numbers, but I read a while back that women are the majority of decision makers in relationships. We automatically think that the man wears the pants and so on...but as your story illustrats, the wife often has a lot pull, more often than not.

Re: Compete with me

Wallah bro where are u? This change is real, and the most exciting thing is that the change effects my entire future.

I constantly look for ways to work harder, live by truth, and become more effective in many areas of my life.

Re: Rules I live By.

A few of my rules:

- Success in anything is hard work and you'll have to burn the midnight oil for a few years before making real money.
- Focus on very few things at a time.
- Whatever you do, do it 150% or go home.
- We all have our motivations in life, don't impose your tastes on others.
- We're all alone when it comes to decisions, your parents, spouse, friends, government or even God can't make those for you.

Re: Choices

Lets do it.

Re: Choices

Luay,

Glad to hear you're following through.

I decided to do the same. I made a few decisions that I've needed to make for a year or so. Feels good.

Cheers!

1. Spend time with loved ones
2. NOT work
3. Take inventory of what made me happier, and what made me unhappy; and detox (and most of them aren't things - they are thoughts!)
4. Re-establish my priorities
5. Take a walk with my dog
6. Visit neighbors and friends
7. Read a book

Re: Happy Holidays

Great list! This has especially been on my mind for the past two to three weeks. I've been watching, hearing, listening to people who have become massive successes in life. People who haven't just made money by selling self-help books, but people who have become extremely successful in a highly competitive field, and have defeated all odds of a messed up background. Musicians like 50 cent, who brought his experiences of a hustler and the street life to his music, giving countless others like him lyrics to relate to. And magazine moguls like Felix Dennis, worth in the 100s of millions today. These people don't talk hugely about the law of attraction or how to set goals. What they do talk most about is you must be determined, you must be single minded, chose the right friends and you must work very hard to get the few things in life you feel are worth getting.

For the rest of us there are no excuses. We have to drag ourselves out of bed in the morning because we lack the passion and the urgency these people had. Lots of them don't even go to sleep for days just because what they're after is so important, they are determined to do it, whatever the cost.

Re: Most Rewarding Job in the World.

Thank you, stay great Paul.

Re: I Hate Outsourcing.

Thank you for the comment, in order to answer your questions correctly, tell me more about yourself? skills? talents? hobbies? comfort zones? fears? and so on, you can email me at luayrahil@gmail.com

Re: I Hate Outsourcing.

I have noticed a lot of these blogs encouraging self employment and I agree with them wholeheartedly. We can not sit around waiting for greedy corporations or government to do what is in the best interest of the people. However, all ideas generated on the blogs I read regarding taking ownership of your own life or "lifestyle design" pertain to affiliate marketing or they're selling their services and "business plan". Another problem I see is not everyone is a writer nor technically able to produce a website or blog in order to produce income. Im a prime example, I purchased a domain, and though I am intelligent. I'm not able to design the page and the blog sucks.

So I ask, what is the solution to us who want to make extra money by starting our own non big corporationish business and create GOOD jobs for others offline? I

Re: Most Rewarding Job in the World.

I have to say this is 1 of my fave posts from you (though I've said that before; you never cease to amaze me with your thoughts =P). So many of the above points are things most of us are guilty of, yet we don't see anything wrong with it. I appreciate you calling it out, and bringing it to our awareness. One thing that most of your entrepreneurial readers (me included) struggle with is working so hard. We work hard so that we can create a meaningful, secure life for our loved ones, but some seem to forget why they work hard - and not take time out to actually spend time with the ones they work hard for.

Keep up being "great" my friend!
